Finally have a few minutes today when I'm not either so exhausted I need to go right back to sleep, and also not feeding Alexander just at the moment, so I've had a chance to get on line! First, I just wanted to say thank you for all the e-mails, cards, and other well wishes - it will probably be a while before I'm able to get back to people in person. I'm doing well, just spending a lot of time feeding Alexander, and grabbing naps in between when I can.
And now, the stuff everyone really wants to see in the first place. Today Alexander is a week old!

Happy one-week birthday, Alexander! The first two pictures of you are so beautiful, kinda-almost-focusing-not-quite, and in the third you look like Yoda. I'm sure you are thinking all kinds of wise thoughts, like how to get starfighters out of swamps and things. The one with you napping with your mom makes me happy... and even though you are too little to appreciate them, those steps are great! (At least your parents aren't living in a garage any more...)
